FIXING
DATES to play can be complicated - but no more so than belonging to
a sports team, Amateur Drama group, the T.A. (Army Reserves) or Police
Specials.
Another parallel is groups who meet regularly to climb mountains or
explore caves.
Membership of any such adventure activity or 'simulation' team does
demand a special sort of commitment.
A
PLACE TO MEET where there is freedom to indulge whatever fantasy is
going to be turned into some sort of reality, is a whole other topic.
Finding suitable premises - and planning outdoor events is discussed
more fully under the heading 'Spaces' (link below)
DECIDING
A THEME of an event and the roles individuals might play within the
scene, can demand negotiation or some sort of luck-of-the-draw arrangement.
Pre-planning a Fantasy Fulfillment event can produce it's own enjoyment.
Dry-runs can involve opportunity for more relaxed activities. Staging
a believable scenario produces it's own challenges.
MAKING
CONTACTS is the first move in any such game-plan. This topic is very
much a matter for the individuals involved. One instigator or two people
looking to expand on their preferred activities is the usual starting
point. The pitch of the play is very much a matter for the core members,
and then invitation to join the group is monitored by the existing members.
There
is much more to be discussed/written to expand on this topic. Setting
up a group is far from easy and can be time-consuming and, in the
political climate, unpredictable - but stuff happens.
